Bicyclists Killed After Driver Fails to Control Speed

MIDLAND, TX — New details have been released on the deadly bicycle crash involving a Midland doctor that occurred on June 7, according to CBS 7. The crash occurred on the service road of Hwy 191.

Dr. Brandey Ackerman was riding her bicycle when she was struck from behind by a car. Police arrived at the scene to find that Dr. Ackerman had passed away from her injuries.

The driver of the car, Joshua Sam, 31, remained at the scene to speak with police. The crash report from Midland Police Department said Sam failed to control his speed when the crash happened. The document obtained by CBS 7 also said that there were no other contributing factors to the crash. No charges have been filed as of now, but it is unknown whether charges will be brought forward later.
