According to San Angelo Police Department Investigating Officer Welch, the sand hauler disregarded the red light headed south bound on Bryant, clipping the F-150 which was on 19th headed east attempting to turn north on Bryant and the Chevy pulling the trailer was in the lane next to the F-150.  The sand hauler wound up in the drainage ditch between the north and south bound lanes of N. Bryant Blvd. between 19th and 18th streets.

The damaged pickup came to rest in the intersection of 19th St. and N. Bryant.  Traffic was backed up while a street sweeper cleaned the roadway.

Reports indicate authorities were concerned about storm water contamination from the collision with rainfall in the forecast.

The driver of the sand hauler was issued a citation for disregarding the red light.  Traffic returned to normal about an hour after the accident was cleared.
