Snyder Man Killed in Horrific Scurry County Crash Involving 18-Wheeler & SUV

 

SNYDER, TX -- (Press Release)  The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a three vehicle crash that took the life of a Snyder man.  

According to DPS Trooper Sgt. Fred Biddle, Monday night around 11:10 pm, a 2014 Ford SUV traveling East on CR 4126 attempting to cross US 84 into Hermleigh.  As the Ford crossed the northbound lanes a 2010 Toyota SUV, traveling north, struck the Ford on the right side.

The crash forced the Toyota into the Allsup’s fuel station.  The Ford spun around in the northbound lane of US 84 and was then struck by a northbound 2001 Peterbilt truck/tractor, towing a trailer.  

The deceased passenger of the Ford SUV was identified as Pete Castro, 29, of Snyder who was pronounced dead at the scene.  Biddle says the crash remains under investigation and no other information has been provided at this time.
