Amarillo Woman Dies in Crash Near Snyder

 

SNYDER, TX — An early morning crash on Sunday near Snyder killed an Amarillo woman, the Texas DPS reported over the weekend.

According to the Texas DPS, DelFina Diaz Guardado, 52, of Amarillo, was driving her 2008 Dodge Dakota southbound on U.S. 84 16.6 miles northwest of Snyder when she veered left into the median. The Dakota crossed into the northbound lanes, losing a tire, and ended up rolling several times.

The Dakota came to a rest in the ditch on the east, or opposite side, of the roadway.

Guardado was transported to UMC Lubbock where she was later pronounced dead. Her only passenger, Cristina Guardado, 25, also of Amarillo, was rushed to the same hospital with incapacitating injuries, DPS reported.

This was the only vehicle involved in the crash that happened at 8:05 a.m. Sunday, May 27. The weather was clear but cloudy and the roadway was dry, DPS reported.

Both driver and passenger were wearing seatbelts.
