Suspected Drunk Driver Crashes Through Abilene Duplex, Injuring 3

ABILENE, TX-- A small child was among three people injured early Friday morning when a suspected drunk driver crashed through one south Abilene duplex before crashing into another, as reported by KTXS.

The driver of the Mustang GT was northbound on South Leggett Drive around midnight according to police. The driver then lost control of his vehicle, crashing into the duplexes between Lynwood Lane and Don Juan Court.

The small child was sleeping in their bedroom at the time when the car went through the duplex, suffering just a minor cut to their hand.

When the car crashed into the second duplex it pushed a sleeping man through a wall and into his bathroom. The man walked away, but was transported to the hospital as a precaution.

The driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital after firefighters cut him out of his vehicle. Police told KTXS they believe the driver was intoxicated. His injuries prevented him from doing a field sobriety test and police are awaiting the results of a blood test.
