Preliminary Report Reveals Details of Grisly Crash Near Putnam

 

ABILENE, TX-- The Department of Public Safety has released a preliminary report of the crash that killed four on I-20 near Putnam on Monday.

The report named the four killed in the crash that involved a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado and a Love's tanker truck.

Johnathan Patrick Pena, 18, Manuel Martinez, 24, Ruben Licon, 17, and Treqweishium Kevondrick Williams, 19, all of Lubbock, were pronounced dead on the scene after being ejected from the Chevy.

The report states the Chevy was traveling westbound on I-20, during a foggy, wet morning, when it went into and through the median before colliding with the 18-wheeler.

The driver of the semi-trailer was not injured. 

Investigators have not yet been able to determine who was driving the Chevy at the time of the crash.

The crash is still under investigation.
