Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing Near Dyess Air Force Base

 

Abilene, TX -- A single engine plane made an emergency landing in a field near Dyess Air Force Base Monday morning.  

According to KTXS, the 1978 Beechcraft A36  Bonanza owned by Abilene attorney Gary Johnson lost power shortly after takeoff from Abilene Regional Airport.  

The pilot reported smoke in the cockpit and landed the low wing plane just off Drummond Rd near FM 707 and U.S. 277.  

No injuries reported at this time.  We will update this story as needed.
