SAN ANGELO, TX -- San Angelo Police are warning drivers a second morning of iced bridges and overpasses on Loop 306 and Houston Harte has already caused multiple crashes.
According to the SAPD, at 12:26 a.m. Thursday morning, drivers should, “Avoid Loop 306 and Houston Harte, bridges are already iced over and accidents have already occurred.”
According to the National Weather Service at 2:57 a.m. Thursday, a Freezing Fog Advisory is in effect until am a.m. this morning and bridges and overpasses are already iced over so avoid them.
“The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a Freezing Fog Advisory, which is in effect until 10 a.m. this morning.
- TIMING...Until 10 a.m. this morning.
- VISIBILITY...Down to 1 mile with some areas possibly being less than a quarter mile.
- IMPACTS...Light accumulations of clear ice are likely on overpasses, bridges, elevated surfaces, and also on roads and sidewalks. This will result in very slippery conditions.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Freezing Fog Advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you. Also,
be alert for frost on bridge decks causing slippery roads.”
