Construction Worker Killed in I-20 18-Wheeler Crash

SWEETWATER, TX -- An unidentified construction worker was killed Wednesday morning when he was struck by an 18-wheeler on I-20 in Sweetwater.

Jamie Burch with KTXS is reporting that the crash occurred near mile marker 248 in Sweetwater.

Sweetwater Fire Chief Grant Madden told KTXS the worker was part of a crew surveying a site where five wrecks occurred earlier today all including 18-wheelers.

There is a slick spot on the roadway that is not related to the wintery weather according to Madden.

We are attempting to confirm that the worker was an employee of Reece Albert, Inc. of San Angelo.

We will have more on this story as that information becomes available.
