According to Texas DPS spokesman Sgt. Justin Baker, a white Mazda 6 was northbound on TX 208. For an unknown reason, the car departed the prepared surface, running off the left side of the roadway, striking a tree.

Baker confirmed one fatality, a man who was the driver and only occupant of the Mazda.

Baker said the investigation is too early to determine if speed was a factor. The Mazda was the only vehicle involved in the crash. The crash happened near the intersection of Red Creek Rd. where there is a eastward bend in the road.
