Mechanical Issues To Blame For Afternoon Accident on US HWY 87

SAN ANGELO, TEXAS -- Around 2:30 p.m. this afternoon, a single motor vehicle accident sent one person to the hospital.

According to a Patrol Deputy on scene, a Dodge truck was headed northbound on US HWY 87, one mile north of Ballard Road in Grape Creek, when it experienced an unknown mechanical problem causing the truck to pull hard to the left. The truck then hit a nearby guardrail. The driver overcorrected and tipped over down the embankment.

The driver was responsive when medics arrived on scene, but she was transported to a nearby hospital to check for any neck, head and/or spine injuries.
