Renegade Sonic Causes Knickerbocker Crash Sandwich Between Two Chicken Joints

SAN ANGELO, TX — A driver of a black Chevrolet Sonic ran a red light on Knickerbocker Rd. causing a three-vehicle crash at about 1 p.m. today.

According to San Angelo Police Officer Mike Gesch, the Sonic was northeast bound on Knickerbocker Rd. As the Sonic approached the intersection of Jackson St., the light turned red, and a green light was given to two vehicles on Jackson, a green Jeep Wrangler and a white Chevrolet Suburban, to proceed north across Knickerbocker.

The Sonic hit the Jeep and knocked it into the white Suburban.

The driver of the Sonic, a 46-year-old woman, was rushed to Shannon Medical Center. Gesch said she was conscious and breathing when paramedics loaded her into an ambulance. She was also cited for running the red light.

Cane's Chicken and Chick-Fil-A are at two corners of this intersection.
