SAN ANGELO, TX — Thursday, Wayne Dolcefino is recovering from a day of surgery Wednesday after being severely injured in a head-on car crash in West Texas Tuesday morning.
According to Jessica Strahinic at Dolcefino Consulting, Wayne was talking Thursday and she had the opportunity to speak to him on the phone.
Dolcefino’s wife, Jennifer, stated in Facebook, that Wayne wants everyone to know, “Its going to take a lot more than a head-on collision to keep me down!"
“Thank you again for your prayers and concern,” Jennifer Dolcefino stated.
Dolcefino was driving to San Angelo from Austin Tuesday morning to meet with San Angelo LIVE! about an ongoing investigation. At 10:40 a.m., a southbound Lexus attempted to pass a line of slower trucks by moving into the northbound lane to pass on the two-lane highway. Dolcefino was driving northbound in his Lexus and attempted to avoid hitting the passing car. The two cars corrected the same direction and collided head-on. Both drivers were airlifted to Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo and subsequently airlifted to a trauma hospital in San Antonio where surgery was performed yesterday.
The exact injuries were not released by the family.
