Coleman Man Struck By Train While Attempting to Cross

 

COLEMAN, TX- The Coleman Police Department reported a pedestrian was struck by a train just before 9 p.m. on Thursday.

According to witness, two male subjects were attempting to cross the train tracks on the 600 block of Vale Street. The victim, Shannon Litton of Coleman, reportedly tripped while crossing the tracks as a train was approaching from the west, Big Country Homepage reported.

Litton was transported to Coleman County Medical Center, and then airlifted to Hendricks Hospital in Abilene. 

The extent of Litton’s injuries are not known at this time. The incident is still under investigation, according to a Coleman Police Department press release.

Agencies responding included the Coleman Police Department, Coleman County Sheriff’s Office, Coleman Fire Department and Heart of Texas EMS.
