Two Young Women Injured in Rollover Crash Near Veribest

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - A single vehicle rollover crash happened at approximately 11:20 a.m. just east of Veribest on 1st Road and south of FM 380. At the scene, a gold late-1990s model Ford Explorer was seen overturned, resting on the passenger side.

The Explorer was traveling southbound on 1st Road, ½ mile south of the FM 380 intersection, according to DPS.

The approximate location:

DPS Trooper Dustin Henderson stated the driver of the Ford told him she was fatigued and ran off the road. The Explorer rolled over at least once and came to a rest on the passenger door side. The passenger was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, Henderson said. The driver was wearing a seatbelt and not ejected, but both sustained non-incapacitating injuries.

Airmed 1 from Shannon Medical Center was dispatched to the scene. Henderson could not confirm this, but believed the passenger was the one transported by helicopter to the hospital.

DPS identified the injured as the driver Nessa Camacho, 23, and passenger Sara Briones, who stated her age as 29. Henderson said he has not verified the exact ages yet.

Camacho was cited for driving on the wrong side of the road while not passing. The Explorer was the only vehicle involved in the crash.
