Woman Trapped After Ford Fiesta Tangles with Sand Truck

SAN ANGELO, TX — A female passenger was trapped inside a Ford Fiesta after the Fiesta’s driver slammed into the sand trailer pulled by a yellow Kenworth rig.

According to San Angelo Police Traffic Investigator Stephen Quade, the Fiesta was traveling south on Bell St. at about the time when the Kenworth was making a right hand turn off Hughes St. to also travel south on Bell.

The Fiesta driver slammed into the Kenworth’s trailer.

The San Angelo Fire Department spent some time to free the passenger. Quade said the female had her foot trapped.

Both occupants were transported to the hospital. In addition to the sore foot, the passenger complained of a head injury, as did the driver.

The crash happened in the intersection of Bell and Hughes just after midnight.

Quade said it’s too early in the investigation to determine who gets citations, if any.
