Woman Killed in Rollover Crash Near Winters

 

An Abilene woman was killed when she lost control of her 2005 Honda Accord and rolled-over into a dirt embankment.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Deborah Reynolds Thompson, 64, of Abilene was northbound on U.S. 83 four miles north of Winters when she lost control. Along this stretch of highway, the DPS stated the speed limit was 75 mph. DPS stated that after Thompson lost control, the vehicle went into a side-skid, struck a fence and then overturned upon hitting the dirt embankment.

The crash happened Sunday at 2:48 p.m., DPS reported. The roadways were dry and the skies were clear, they stated.

Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was taken to Winters Funeral Home.
