Update 1:30 p.m.

Drivers running red lights seems to be a constant these days, and, as a result, collisions do too.

This afternoon, San Angelo Police spent some time diverting traffic on Dallas and Van Buren after a truck and van collided.

Officer Younts said the driver of a red truck was traveling westbound on Dallas, and the driver of a blue van was heading northbound on Van Buren. Two witnesses said the van had a green light to go straight across on Van Buren. The same two witnesses said the truck had a red light on Dallas.

“The witnesses said the red truck ran a red light and collided with the blue van in the intersection,” said Officer Younts.

He noted that no one was injured, but the driver of the truck received a citation for disregarding a red light.
