SUV Hits Guardrail, Catches Fire and Rolls Over on US 87

One person suffered burns to the body after an SUV carrying three occupants crashed and caught fire on US 87 and Chadbourne.

DPS Trooper Henderson said just before 6 a.m., a black SUV was traveling southbound on US 87 on the Chadbourne Street bridge when it struck a guardrail, caught fire and overturned.

"I do know there were three occupants," said Trooper Henderson. "One of them was burned, the other one was up walking around, and the third victim had minor scratches I believe; [it's] what they told me."

Henderson stated all three occupants were transported to Shannon Medical Center.

The crash is currently under investigation, and a press release with more details may follow pending the outcome.
