Two San Angelo Men Killed in Three Vehicle Crash Near Llano

Two San Angelo residents, Darron Walton, 37, and Bryan Keith Owen, 36, died in an early morning crash in Llano County, said DPS officials.

According to DPS, at 5:10 a.m. this morning, the driver of a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, Anthony Lee Reina, 45, of Wharton, Texas, was towing a 2013 Cimarron HE, where Bailey Reina, 19, of Wharton, Texas, was sleeping, according to her mother's Facebook post, and traveling west on SH 29, approaching the SH 71 intersection. At the same time, Walton and Owen were traveling south on SH 71 in a 2005 Ford Expedition, approaching the SH 29 intersection.

Walton, who was driving the Ford, disregarded a stop sign and struck the Dodge Ram and Cimarron HE. All three vehicles left the south side of the roadway.

Both Walton and Owen were pronounced dead at the scene by Judge Bebe Piatt, JP#1, said DPS officials. Anthony Reina and a passenger in his pickup, Tutt Hugh Garnett, 64, of Llano, Texas, were not injured, but Bailey Reina suffered incapacitating injuries. All drivers and passengers had seatbelts on except for Bailey Reina.

At the time of the crash, the road conditions were clear and dry, and the posted speed limit is 70 mph in the area, which is State Highway 29, about 1.7 miles west of Llano.

DPS stated that a preliminary crash report will be available for purchase online in 10 days at https://cris.dot.state.tx.us/public/Purchase/crashReportSearch.htm.
