A Ford and a Chevy collided on Rust Road and FM 2105 this afternoon after one driver failed to yield the right of way.
Trooper Justin Baker, safety education and public information officer for DPS, said troopers responded to a crash at around 4:30 p.m. in the area. He said the female driver of a 1995 Chevy S10 was traveling southbound on Rust Road and attempting to cross the intersection on FM 2105. The driver of the Ford F-150, containing three children between the ages of 8 and 15, was traveling eastbound on FM 2105. The driver of the Chevy S10 stopped at the intersection and proceeded to cross 2105; however, she failed to yield the right of way to the Ford F-150, so the pickup struck her vehicle.
Baker said there were minor injuries sustained, but no one was transported to the hospital. Also, the driver of the Chevy received a citation for failing to yield the right of way at an intersection.
Baker said drivers want to use more caution on the roads with the inclement weather hitting the area.
