Abilene Pedestrian Hit by Vehicle After Argument

Early this morning, Abilene Police responded to a vehicle/pedestrian crash near the intersection of South First and Ross Streets. A woman, who had been arguing with her husband, went into the path of an SUV.

At around 7:54 a.m., Mary Navarez, 48, and her spouse were walking eastbound on South First. A suburban, heading north on Ross, turned onto South First and struck Navarez.

Navarez’s husband said the two were arguing when his wife pulled away from him into the path of the SUV.  Navarez was struck by the vehicle and suffered injury to her leg. She was transported to Hendrick Medical Center.

The APD said no citations were issued.
