The vehicles involved are a white Chevy Lumina and a silver Subaru. Because traffic is backing up, the San Angelo Police are urging drivers to avoid the area.

Update: 3:15 p.m.

Officer Brian Bylsma, with SAPD’s Traffic Investigation Division, said that he was dispatched to the intersection of Arden Road and FM 2288 for a major crash at 2:03 p.m. When he arrived, he found the two vehicles mentioned.

“I haven’t been able to talk to the driver of the Chevy Lumina,” said Bylsma. “The driver of the Subaru, she’s not from here so she really couldn’t give me a lot of information on where she was coming from.”

Bylsma said the driver did say she exited 277 and ended up on Arden. The next thing she knew she was involved in a collision.

Based on the evidence at the scene, Officer Bylsma said the Chevy was northbound on FM 2288, and the Subaru was northwest on Arden Road. The driver of the Subaru failed to yield the right of way at the intersection to the Chevy, which caused the collision.

“As of right now, the investigation is still pending,” said Officer Bylsma. “I have to talk to all the drivers involved. I have to go to the hospital and talk to them.”

Bylsma said, however, all indicators point to the driver of the Subaru failing to yield the right of way.

Three people were transported to the hospital, two in the Subaru and one in the Chevy, but they all suffered minor injuries.
