Jared Thomason, public information officer for the Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Department, said, at 4:50 p.m. this afternoon, emergency responders were dispatched to the 900 block of US Hwy 87 for a major motor vehicle accident; upon arrival, they found three vehicles involved in the crash.
Thomason said a 32-year-old driver of a Chevy Silverado traveling at a high rate of speed rear ended a Ford F-350 being towed by a Chevy Tahoe. However, the driver of the Tahoe was traveling 20 miles per hour on the highway. The F-350 ended up down the road.
“The gentleman driving the Silverado had some injuries and was transported to a local hospital,” said Thomason. “He had a spider web to the windshield, so he hit his head pretty good.”
The man was the only one transported to the hospital. The driver of the Tahoe was treated at the scene. Two ambulances were dispatched to the area.
Thomason said DPS officials will lead the investigation in this case, and will determine citations.
