Pregnant Woman Goes to Hospital After Crash in North San Angelo

Another vehicle ended up in a north San Angelo yard this afternoon after two vehicles collided on 19th Street and MLK Blvd.

Right before 4 p.m., Officer Jose Ruiz said the driver of a Toyota Tundra was driving in the outside lane of West 19th Street while a silver Nissan Altima was turning southbound onto MLK from West 19th. The driver of the Altima made the left turn in front of the Tundra so the vehicles collided.

Officer Ruiz said the driver of the Altima is 6 months pregnant and was having pains around her abdomen, neck and back, so she was transported to an area hospital. There were three additional passengers in the Altima, and they too went to the hospital to get “checked out,” said Ruiz.

There were also three passengers in the pickup truck, but they sustained no injuries.

At this time, no citations will be issued pending the investigation. This crash was one of three that happened one right after the other this afternoon.
