One Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Crash on FM 89

One motorcyclist was seriously injured while another suffered minor injuries in a crash on FM 89, near Bell Plains Road, said Trooper Frederick Biddle with DPS.

At around 7:15 p.m. this evening, two motorcycles were traveling north towards Abilene on FM 89 when the first motorcycle had a blowout causing the rider to lay the bike down on the roadway. The second bike, unable to avoid the first one, went off the road into the barrow ditch and crashed. The driver of the first cycle suffered minor injuries; however, the rider of the second cycle was seriously injured and transported to Hendrick Medical Center.

Biddle said at this time the investigation is ongoing, and more information will be released when available.
