A family of six people and another driver walked away with minor bumps and bruises this evening, after the driver of a Dodge Durango crashed into them on Sherwood Way and Sunset Drive, near Target.
Officer Rick Tinsley, acting supervisor for the San Angelo Police Department, said at approximately 6:20 p.m., there were two vehicles stopped at the light headed westbound on Sherwood Way. However, the driver of the Dodge Durango failed to stop.
“She hit the first vehicle,” said Tinsley. “She came to and pushed it out of the way, and then impacted the second vehicle.”
Tinsley said there were two people in the Durango and they walked away with minor bumps. There were six people in the second vehicle, and they had minor bumps and injuries. Tinsley said this family consisted of both children and adults. As for the driver of the third vehicle, she suffered no injuries.
“Nobody went to the hospital,” Tinsley noted. “Nobody was treated on the scene. One vehicle drove away, and two were towed away.”
Tinsley added that the driver of the Dodge Durango received a citation for failure to control speed. As they cleaned up, SAPD officials closed down the inside lanes going in both directions on Sherwood Way.
