At approximately 1:55 p.m. the Coleman Fire and Novice Volunteer Fire Departments responded to what they first thought to be a head-on collision involving two Ford F150 pickup trucks on U.S. 84.
According to a Department of Public Safety trooper on the scene, the driver of a red Ford F150 was traveling north on U.S. 84. He had slowed down to make a left turn on FM 702 when the driver of a white Ford F150 traveling in the same inside lane slammed into the red pickup from behind.
The DPS trooper said luckily injuries were minor and ambulance services were declined. However, the driver of the white Ford F150 will be cited for failure to control speed.
An official with the Novice VFD stated the roads are slick and getting worse. He added, “Please slow down!”
