Woman Under the Influence Slams into Utility Pole on Chadbourne

Sunday was the night of crashes on Chadbourne St. At approximately 6:15 and 6:20 p.m., San Angelo Police and emergency personnel were called out to two accidents: one on 17th and Chadbourne Streets, and the second, on Avenue L and Chadbourne St.

The first crash occurred after a female driver in her 50s or 60s who was driving while intoxicated swerved off the road and hit a utility pole in the 1700 block of South Chadbourne.

“She’s kind of uncooperative at this time,” Officer Green said about the arrest. “She didn’t know she was in an accident until about five minutes ago. She lives on the other side of town and didn’t even know she was on this side of town.”

Green added that the driver was being transported to the Tom Green County Jail where she will be spending a little time for this incident. Her car is being towed to Home Motors after SAPD conducts an inventory of the vehicle. Luckily, no one was hurt; however, the driver complained of a hurt ankle.
