Arizona Driver Dead After Crash in Reeves County

An Arizona resident who was driving on Interstate Highway 10 in Reeves County lost his life after losing control of his vehicle Sunday afternoon, said a Department of Public Safety press release Monday.

According to the release, Adolfo Sandoval Figueroa, 59, of Tucson, Arizona, was traveling eastbound on IH-10 in a 2008 Ford F-150, approximately 16 miles east of Balmorhea, Texas. As he approached the right curve in the roadway, Figueroa left the roadway to the left and entered the center median. He then steered to the right, came back onto the roadway and then steered left off the road once more. He entered the median a second time, and repeated the same movement into the center median a third time. After that, Figueroa steered to the right and began a left broadside skid in the center median and began to roll to the left. Figueroa ejected from the vehicle before it came to rest on its top in the center median facing southwest.

DPS stated that Figueroa wasn’t wearing his seatbelt and was pronounced dead by JP Harrison. The speed limit was 80 mph, and the weather conditions were dry and clear. Next of kin have been notified.
