At approximately 7 p.m. Tuesday evening, Officer Brian Bylsma said he was dispatched to a major accident at Koenigheim and Beauregard Ave. involving a Toyota Tundra and Lincoln.
During the investigation, Bylsma learned that the female driver of the Tundra was traveling eastbound on Beauregard Ave. As she entered the intersection on Koenigheim, she was struck by the Lincoln. Witnesses told Bylsma the light was green at the time. However, the female driver of the Lincoln, who was traveling northbound on Koenigheim, disregarded the red light and crashed into the Tundra.
Luckily, no major injuries were reported.
“The driver of the Lincoln had some minor injuries and refused an ambulance and service,” Bylsma said. “The driver of the Tundra also had some minor injuries. She also declined medical service at the scene.”
Bylsma added that the driver of the Lincoln was issued a citation for disregarding a red light.
