A South Carolina Pedestrian Loses His Life During an Early Morning Crash

 

A South Carolina man lost his life in an early-morning pedestrian crash on IH-20 near Baird, said a DPS press release Monday afternoon.

According to the release, the driver of a 2015 Ford Passenger vehicle, Benny Glen Bundy, 36, of Amarillo, was traveling east on IH-20 at approximately 12:51 a.m. when he struck a pedestrian, Patrick Hayes Newell, 25, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, who was walking northbound across IH-20.

DPS stated that Judge McAuliffe later pronounced Newell’s death at Hendrick Medical Center. Bundy sustained no injuries, and the crash remains under investigation.
