Crash on Chadbourne Overpass Leaves One Driver Injured in San Angelo

The female driver of a 2000 four-door Lincoln sedan went to Shannon Medical Center Tuesday with non-life-threatening injuries morning after losing control of her vehicle and crashing into a guardrail at the overpass on Chadbourne St. and Highway 87, said Officer John Palmer with the San Angelo Police Department.

At a little past 10 a.m., the driver, who was travelling northbound on Highway 87, lost control of her vehicle and went from the inside to the outside lane and reverted back into the inside lane. At that point, Palmer said the driver went off the west edge of the road, hit the dirt, started to spin, hit the guardrail with the left back quarter portion of her vehicle, slapped the guardrail again at the left front quarter portion of the vehicle, spun around once more and came to rest in the median.

Palmer added that the driver didn’t know what prompted her to lose control of the vehicle, and she may receive a citation; however, the crash is still under investigation.

Poor lady has totaled her car and it's not an Escalade or brand new truck so of course they'll add insult to injury and give her a citation.
