A 17-year-old with a driver learner’s permit pulled out in front of a Chevrolet pickup at the intersection of Southland Blvd. and College Hills Blvd. A collision was the result just after 5 p.m.
According to San Angelo Police Traffic Investigator Brian Bylsma, a white Chevrolet Silverado was southbound on College Hills and as the pickup approached the Southland intersection, the 17-year-old pulled out into the intersection in a maroon Chevrolet Suburban. “He said he didn’t see the Chevy truck,” Bylsma said.
The driver of the pickup was trapped inside, uninjured, but eventually was able to gain his freedom unassisted.
The driver of the Suburban was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way.
