This is very, very close to the location where the Standard Times employee was ran over and killed a few years ago - if not the same isn't it?

I am a frequent pedestrian in San Angelo's downtown area and can readily testify that it is NOT a pedestrian-friendly environment. Drivers are oblivious to those afoot. They block crosswalks when stopping at (or rolling through) red lights. They are so busy looking left so they can right-on-red that they never notice someone entering the crosswalks.
Jaywalking pedestrians, especially in Historic Block One should also be ticketed as appropriate. They are equal in their disregard of the LAWS.
The City is no exception in this safety issue. They have REFUSED to mark one particular intersection with a heavily traveled though still-not-painted crosswalk across Chadbourne at Neff's Way and perpendicularly across Neff's Way at Chadbourne!!! KNOWN pedestrian traffic patterns have been faithfully IGNORED by our downtown planners, forsaking safety and the walking public.

Grab that one for a news story BEFORE there's another avoidable pedestrian injury.
