A two-car accident is currently blocking traffic on the north- and southbound inside lanes of Highway 67 N. at the intersection of City Farm Road.
A maroon Lexus GS 300 and a charcoal gray Honda Civic collided. The Lexus’s airbags deployed and a female occupant was transported to Shannon complaining of back trouble. The only occupant of the Honda was a younger male.
TxDOT, the sheriff’s department and DPS are on the scene.
The accident is currently under investigation. An update will be provided when more information is released.
Update 3:27 p.m.
According to the investigating officer, the gray Honda Civic was at the stop sign on the intersection of City Farm Road facing north. He failed to yield at the stop sign to a northbound vehicle traveling below the speed limit. The Honda didn’t see the the red Lexus and they collided in the inside lane. The Lexus veered off into oncoming traffic and nobody was coming at the time. The passenger of the red Lexus went to the hospital with what appears to be minor back and neck injuries and knee injuries as well.
There were two passengers in the Lexus and one in the Honda. The driver of the Civic received a citation for failing to yield at a stop sign. Everything was shut down on the inside lanes and the outside lanes had through traffic.
