San Angelo police have confirmed one fatality in a major vehicle crash on Knickerbocker Road near Bentwood at approximately 10 p.m. San Angelo Police Traffic Investigator Steve Quade is investigating the crash. The early findings are that the driver lost control and that weather was a contributing factor.
The hard rain is prevented us from getting closer to get the whole picture.
We can confirm that all lanes of Knickerbocker Road are closed to through traffic as of midnight. There may be a chance of one northbound lane being open, but we saw police turning around southbound traffic headed towards the lake.
Two ambulances were dispatched to the crash scene. The first left with lights and sirens. A second was called about 30 minutes after the crash happened.
Over the radio, police were informed that the crash involved entrapment of a passenger or driver (or both).
We will update this story when more information is available.
