Honda Accord Takes Out 40 Feet of Guard Rail on Loop 306

Police said that a female driver was injured when her light blue 2012 Honda Accord ran off the south side of the off/on ramp from eastbound Houston Harte Expressway onto southbound Loop 306 at around 2:30 p.m. today.

Police have not determined how fast the Accord was traveling when it veered off the roadway and collided with the guardrail. However, approximately 40 feet of the guardrail was plowed over and destroyed. “It appears that she just drifted off the road and collided with the guardrail,” Traffic Investigator Officer Brian Bylsma of the SAPD said. “There were no skid marks.”

She was rushed to San Angelo Community Hospital with minor injuries and Bylsma said she was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Bylsma said that the driver will probably be cited with Failure to Control Speed as soon as the investigation is complete.

The crash happened in the southbound off-ramp just before the Pulliam St. overpass.
