Both occupants of a white Ford Taurus are in the hospital following a three car pile-up on Sherwood Way Tuesday evening.
A westbound black Dodge van was making a left hand turn on a green light without the green arrow from Sherwood Way onto Southwest Blvd. and failed to yield to inbound traffic, police said.
Meanwhile a white Ford Taurus was coming towards the black van heading east on Sherwood Way. At the last moment, the driver of the white Taurus saw the imminent collision and attempted to evade. It was too late. The Taurus struck the van, spinning the van around.
The Taurus then continued ahead, striking a black Honda passenger sedan.

When the dust settled, the Taurus driver and his female passenger were injured and rushed to Shannon Medical Center with injuries.
Police said that a citation will likely be issued, pending the final outcome of the investigation. The victims who were in the Taurus have not been interviewed, police said.
The crash happened at approximately 6 p.m.
