Woman Pulls Out in Front of Car on Abe St., Causes Crash

Two lanes of traffic were blocked on Abe St. Monday mid-morning, when a silver Ford Explorer and a white Pontiac Grand Am collided in front of Eskimo Hut.

SAPD Sgt. Korby Kennedy explained that the accident occurred when Serena Mendoza pulled out of the alleyway next to Eskimo Hut in front of Mary Lewis, who was traveling southbound on Abe St. in her Grand Am. Lewis then crashed into the side of the Explorer.

Lewis sustained non-incapacitating injuries in the crash and was transported to Shannon Medical Center.

Mendoza, of Garden City, was cited for failure to yield right of way.
