Toyota Sandwiched in Three-Car Pileup

One woman was sent to the hospital following a crash on Ave. N and Park St this afternoon, when the driver of a Dodge Ram crashed into a Corrolla, starting a domino effect.

A gold Ford F-150 was eastbound on Ave. N when it attempted to turn left onto Park St. Meanwhile, a silver Toyota Corrolla paused behind the F-150 while a white Dodge Ram 2500 approached and slammed into the rear of the Corrolla, pushing it into the F-150.

Both trucks sustained minimal damage in the crash, however the sandwiched Toyota was totaled. The 52-year-old female occupant of the car was sent to the hospital by ambulance without lights or sirens.

The driver of the Dodge is from Cisco, police said, and does not own the vehicle, nor is he insured. As emerency personnel worked the scene, the owner of the truck came running down the street from a nearby apartment complex and exclaimed that she believed the male driver must have been texting while driving. She does carry insurance, she said, however the driver is not on it.

The driver of the Dodge was cited for failure to control speed. He claimed he couldn't stop in time because the roads were bad, but the owner said she'd just put new brakes on a week ago and is glad they are under warranty.
