Three people were transported to the hospital with injuries on Saturday night, following a rollover crash on US 87 at Mule Creek that involved two crashed vehicles and three more hit with debris.
According to a preliminary crash report released by the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred at approximately 10:50 p.m. when Arturo Fidencio Diaz was driving his 2009 Pontiac southbound in the northbound lane. At the same time, Edward Lopez and his passenger Elvin Espinosa were heading northbound on US 87 in a 2012 Ford pickup, and were hit by Diaz head on.
After impact, the Pontiac continued traveling south, struck a guardrail and came to rest in the center median facing northwest. The Ford continued to travel northbound before rolling to the left over the top and coming to rest in the center median facing northwest.
Three other vehicles were struck by debris as a result of the crash, but none of their drivers or passengers sustained any injuries.
Diaz, Lopez and Espinosa were all transported to the hospital. The seriousness of their injuries has not been relayed.
The crash is still under investigation by the DPS.
