Two fatalities have been confirmed in a major motor vehicle crash near Armstrong and 42nd St. in north San Angelo.
San Angelo Police Sergeant Daniel Williams stated at the scene that the car involved a gold car and a blue car, both of which were traveling down Armstrong heading opposite directions when the crash occurred.
"The gold car was southbound on Armstong," Sgt. Williams explained. "The blue car was going to turn west onto 42nd and was struck by the gold car. We are still in the process of identifying everybody and getting all the notifications made and determining what all caused the accident."
Both drivers were killed, Williams said. One died on scene; the second was transported to Shannon Medical Center and succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.
Neither driver had a passenger in the car.
The call came in at 9:37 p.m.
Names of the victims and the makes and models of the vehicles will not be released until next of kin is notified.

PermalinkI rechecked the story with the guys who wrote it. We report what the police tell us. Sometimes, even the police don't have the full story when they brief the media. In this case, there were several people who wanted to relay their version of the crash, but when the police asked for witnesses, only one person raised his hand. I hope that with your information, you contact the traffic division of the police department.

PermalinkAs a family member of the sole occupant of the blue car I want to say thank you to each and every one of you that stopped to render aid. My uncle was a great man that would have done anything for anyone. He was the one turning onto 42nd as he lived with his daughter on 43rd and was headed home. Thank you for all of your kindness and prayers.
