Run Over Gas Meter Sustains Large Leak on Armstrong

A gas meter that has been struck by a vehicle is leaking gas in the 1900 block of Armstrong, near the Stripes at 802 W. 19th.

Crews with Atmos Energy are currently working to cap off the meter, and traffic in the far right northbound lane of Armstrong is currently closed to traffic.

At the moment, it is unknown who hit the meter and with what type of vehicle, but it is "barely hanging on". The smell of natural gas is strong in the area, and police are advising people to avoid that block.
