A Dodge Charger collided with the front of a Chevrolet 3500 pickup at the intersection of Arden Road and FM 2288 this evening just before 7 p.m.
According to the DPS, the Chevy was eastbound on Arden Road and stopped at the intersection. The driver of the truck then pulled out in front of the Charger that was traveling south through the intersection on FM 2288. The Charger had the right-of-way, Trooper Matt Walz of the Texas DPS said.
According to Jered Thomason, spokesman for the Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Department, the Charger skidded almost 40 feet from impact to its final stopping point.
The drivers of the Chevy and Charger were treated at the scene and released, Thomason said. The passenger of the Charger was transported to Community Medical Center with non-incapacitating injuries.
The Chevy truck has markings that appear to be official State of Texas logos. They are not. The decal on the truck reads “Big Star Pipe Inspectors.”
Trooper Walz from the Texas Department of Public Safety is the lead investor of the crash. The Grape Creek VFD and San Angelo EMS tended the scene.
Walz said that the driver of the Chevy was issued a citation for failure to yield the right-of-way at a stop sign.
