Hyundai and Buick Crash on W. Beauregard

A silver Hyundai Genesis and a white Buick Van have crashed in the 400 block of W. Beauregard, just in front of Johnson's Funeral Home.

The Hyundai appears to have sustained severe damage in the crash to the front end, which is smashed up around the motor. The Buick sustained less damage to the rear, but has a crease in the back panel.

It appears that the Hyundai rear-ended the Buick, however cause and fault have not yet been determined.

Drivers of the vehicles have sustained minor injuries, one of which was reportedly loaded into an ambulance that left the scene without lights or sirens on.

The inside westbound lane of W. Beauregard is closed to traffic at the moment.

Update 11:40 a.m.

The investigating officer explained that the Buick had stopped on W. Beauregard and the Hyundai was traveling behind it, but the driver failed to brake and plowed into the rear end of the Buick.

One of three occupants in the Buick was injured in the crash. The driver of the Hyundai was cited for failure to control speed.
