Abe Street and West Harris Avenue saw the second major vehicle crash this evening at 9:40 p.m. This time, a black Chevrolet Terrain and a white Ford F-150 collided, causing at least one to go to the hospital.
The intersection was the scene of an earlier crash today when a southbound Abe St. driver in a Chevy Malibu allegedly blew through the red light there and crashed into two sedans westbound on Harris. The earlier crash also sent one to the hospital—the driver of the Malibu.
The intersection is still a mess as of 10 p.m. Monday night. Ladder 1, San Angelo police and EMS are tending to the scene.
The driver of the Terrain was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. The driver of the F-150 was released from the scene. He actually drove the Ford from the scene.
Scheider Distributiing's video surveillance system caught the earlier crash on tape. Perhaps we'll see if that camera works at night too.
Update 10:40 p.m.
The investigation continues at the hospital where police officers will interview the driver of the black Chevy. The earlier crash at the same location left a considerable amount of skid marks that are making it more challenging to investigate this crash. The white F-150 was facing the flow of traffic. We will not obtain more information on this crash tonight.
