A rollover crash involving a single vehicle driven by an elderly woman has been reported at 2021 Ranch to Market Road 584.
Radio traffic indicated that the woman had rolled her vehicle and become trapped thereafter, waiting for emergency responders to come and free her.
The woman was reported to have had possible diabetic complications, and the roof of the vehicle has been removed so that the woman may be extracted and receive medical treatment.
TxDPS Troopers, Fire Rescue, Medic 1, TGC Sheriff's Deputies and Pecan Creek VFD are on scene.
How the vehicle ended up so far out in the field remains a mystery.
Two witnesses on scene are giving statements to the DPS. One of the witnesses said she was glad she was there to call 911.
Update 3:09 p.m.
Home Motors has arrived on scene and is receiving instructions on how to approach the vehicle. DPS is leading the investigation.
Update 3:17 p.m.
An unofficial statement provided by a witness on scene suggests that the woman, driving a Ford Escape, was driving 20 mph eastbound in the westbound lane.
Someone dialed 911 to report it, and as emergency personnel were responding, the woman accelerated and drifted on the road, picking up speed as she plowed through three fence lines before rolling and coming to a stop.
She was extracted and taken by ambulance to a local hospital. No word has been relayed on as to whether or not she was injured in the crash.
