One Fatality in Crash on 19th Street at Marx Saturday Night

 

At approximately 10:30 p.m., there was a crash between a maroon Yukon and a silver Pontiac Grand Am. Several occupants of the vehicles have been taken to the hospital already. San Angelo police said that the first priority was taking care of the injured. The investigation just began.

Police Criminal Investigations Division is on the scene. This does not look good.

The road is blocked on 19th Street from Pecan to Marx. We will have updates as they happen.

Update 11:41 p.m.

We were advised that the area in the street where the crash occurred is now considered a crime scene. Investigators are tagging the objects in the street and using spray paint to mark significant finds. It will be a while before much more is released about this crash.

Update August 10, 12:09 a.m.

San Angelo Police Officer Korby Kennedy said there was one fatality in the crash from the silver (or gray) Pontiac pictured above. The maroon Surburban was westbound on 19th. The Pontiac was at the stop sign at Marx. The Pontiac proceeded across 19th Street and was hit by the Suburban. Each vehicle in the crash had a driver and a passenger. The police are withholding the names of the victims pending notification of the next of kin.
