WATCH: Wall's Storied Grass Roots
WALL, TX -- Tonight the no. 4 Wall Hawks will not only be hosting the no. 4 ranked Cisco Loboes from Class 2A Division 1 but for the first time in program history, they will be playing a home game in Wall on artificial turf.
The announcement of the installation of new turf came as a surprise this summer since Wall has historically had an all-grass field but over the years it's become more difficult to maintain especially when heavy rains make their way through the east end of Tom Green County and flood the game and practice fields.
Moving forward the Hawks won't just be playing on any artificial turf, but the same turf that was installed by Paragon Sports at the Texas Rangers new ball park Globe Life Field.
Watch as current and past Hawks talk about their memories of playing on natural grass and what the transition to artificial turf means to the football program and the Wall community.
This week's COVER1 Preview is presented by Angelo MRI and Bug Express.
